YOKOSUKA, Japan – The Leading Ladies and Leading Lads of Yokosuka Middle School recently participated in a collaborative series of financial management workshops in partnership with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU). This special opportunity provided students with hands‑on learning designed to prepare them for a lifetime of smart money decisions.

Throughout the sessions, NFCU educators guided students through real‑world topics such as budgeting, saving for long‑term goals, distinguishing needs from wants, and how financial institutions support their members. Activities were interactive and student‑friendly, helping participants connect financial concepts to everyday situations.

For both groups, the workshops offered more than just money lessons. Students practiced leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking—key pillars of the Leading Ladies and Leading Lads programs. By exploring financial literacy through a leadership lens, participants learned how responsible financial choices can empower them now and well into the future.

Yokosuka Middle School extends heartfelt appreciation to Navy Federal Credit Union for investing in our students and supporting their growth as confident, informed, and community‑minded leaders. Opportunities like this remind us how partnerships between schools and local organizations enrich learning and help build bright futures.
